A deposition is a formal and legally binding process used in the legal system to gather sworn testimony and information from a witness under oath. It is typically conducted as part of the pretrial discovery phase in a civil lawsuit. Often times, a healthcare provider is served with a deposition notice to gather testimony as to the chart notes and documentation of the care and treatment provided to a patient.

During a deposition, the healthcare provider is questioned by the attorneys representing both sides. The purpose of a deposition is to allow each side to gather information, establish facts, and assess the credibility of the witness's testimony. The witness's statements during a deposition can be used as evidence in court.

Depositions serve as an important tool for attorneys to gather information, assess the strength of their case, and prepare for trial. They help uncover facts, clarify details, and allow for a thorough examination of witnesses, contributing to the pursuit of justice and the resolution of legal disputes.

Mark and his team will represent the healthcare provider from receipt of the deposition subpoena until resolution of the case.  This includes protecting the interests of the treater at the time of the deposition.
